One of the presents i bought for Austin this Christmas was a Crosley record player, alongside a couple of vinyls to get him started. I found a Disneyland Record at Atomic Records called Chilling Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House from 1964. I love scaries, we both love Disney, vintage vinyl: score! and buy!
The album is introduced with a woman setting up a scenario, followed by standard chilling sounds…banshee screams, whistling winds, screeching cats, water drips… oh, the water drips. I’m guessing the water dripping was implying to Chinese Water Torture because the narrative that followed made Austin & myself stop what we were doing, look at each other from across the room, asking “did you just hear that?” immediately followed by a wave of laughter and continuous replays.
